Lenovo Thinkpad T410
Mark: Good Installed eComStation 2.1 after previously having run eCS 2.0.
Continue to run Win 7 in dual boot. New AirBot boot manager
needed for eCS 2.1 to install, but replacing the old IMB OS/2
boot manager went easy (in the eCS install, go to boot manager
and choose replace). For those installing eCS alongside Win 7
on newer systems, see my comments on installing eCS 2.0.
Note that the AirBot boot manager enables you to keep the Lenovo spare
partition one had to delete when using the IBM OS/2 boot manager.
As in my second eCS 2.0 install chose modern hardware settings, and
installed ACPI 3.18 after the initial install had completed. ACPI
settings: PSD=ACPI.PSD /SMP /R /PIC /MCPU:2, both processors recognized,
but suspend/resume does still not work.
Power supply works fine, quiet fan operation, working temperature is normal.
Wired net access via the Intel e100E NIC driver (shipped with eCS 2.1) works
excellent.
Installed sound, but cannot adjust volume (so I disabled system sounds).
Stable and fast operation. Flash 10 now works satisfactorily giving sound,
while the new JAVA still does not work. As under eCS 2.0 needs working
WiFi, and suspend/resume to get ranking "very good".

Comentarios: Eirik Romstad 2012-02-18 15:38:36 | Installed ACPI 3.19.15 on my T410 (running eCS 2.1). Results:
- faster boot times (so fast that the lack of suspend and resume no longer feels like a major nusiance)
- Fn+Fx keys still do not work, but compared to past ACPI versions, the mute button for sound does (so a solution is getting closer)
- working on getting Wireless to work (and I think I am close to a solution -- a an additional comment will be made when this works) |
