ASRock 939Dual-SATA2

ASRock 939Dual-SATA2

Mark: Bad

Tried with eCS 1.2 media refresh.

SATA-II drive (Maxtor Diamondmax 10 6V250F0) not recognized (by Dani drivers) on the SATA-II entry of the motherboard. When connecting the drive to the 1.5 GB/s SATA port it seems work, although the chipset is not listed as supported by the Dani drivers. Installing eCS 1.2 is problematic: the install process stalls during 'Installing Legacy Browser'. Only when NOT initially installing network and installing it later I succeeded in get eCS working. However, I experience regular hangups, especially when terminating Firefox and Thunderbird: only the mousepointer still moves, everything else is stopped, including clock, CPU monitor, Alt-Ctrl-Del. LAN-port not supported Audio: not supported

Note: also SuSE Linux 10.0 doesn't recognise the SATA-II port, but works fine with the 1.5 GB/s SATA port.

Seems I had very similar problems with ASROCK 775i65G with INTEL Dual Core Pentium Celeron. IDE and SATA are working fine on both ports. Tried it with differen HDs. Even the integrated INTEL Extreme Graphics 2 is well known during installation.

Unknown were the Cmedia 9761A and the Realtek PCI Lan 8101L.

The system stalled during the installation from browser as described obove and - - after "chkdsk" in consolemode, during testphase of JAVA.

So I finished the installation without netsupport.

After a fine working system, the net-installation made no problem again.

So I would think on Asrock Boards it will be better at first, finishing the installation without netsupport.
